Ontario launching new agency to centralize government procurement
November 16, 2020 – The Ontario government announced the establishment of Supply Ontario, a new centralized procurement agency that will enable a whole-of-government approach to purchasing goods and services, saving taxpayers money. Supply Ontario will ensure that schools, hospitals, and the entire public sector always have the critical supplies and equipment they need to keep individuals and families safe, while supporting job creation and economic growth. Details were provided today by Premier Doug Ford, Lisa Thompson, Minister of Government and Consumer Services, Peter Bethlenfalvy, President of the Treasury Board, and Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. New round of RRRF interest-free business loans up to $40,000
Small businesses are at the heart of our economy and are vital to our communities. Effective immediately Community Futures Huron is accepting applications for a new round of RRRF interest-free business loans up to $40,000. The Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) 2.0 is a NEW round of the funding program offered through FedDev Ontario and Community Futures Ontario to provide financial assistance to small and medium-sized businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and who are unable to access the Government of Canada’s existing relief measures. When Keith was growing up on a farm near Lucknow, it was still time when neighbours came together to undertake tasks that were too big for the individual to accomplish on his/her own. The lesson that community action can help the individual achieve his or her goals, has been a guiding principle in his life ever since. Rural Response to COVID-19 survey
In an effort to better understand how COVID-19 has impacted the day-to-day lives of residents in both Huron and Perth Counties, the Huron County Economic Development Department is asking YOU to participate in a survey – found here: https://linktr.ee/RURAL_RESPONSE Each household in Huron and Perth Counties has also been mailed one of these surveys, in order to ensure that no voice is left unheard! This survey is being conducted in partnership with United Way Perth-Huron, the Social Research and Planning Council, and researchers from the University of Guelph.

Canada United Small Business Relief Fund – get relief for your small business
The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund grant window opened on August 31. A limited number of grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded. The Canada United Small Business Relief Fund will be managed by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the national Chamber network in support of other chambers and partners to help small Canadian businesses with their recovery efforts as a result of COVID-19.
