CFHuron – Year in Review
Last week, Community Futures Huron held our 27th Annual General Meeting (virtually of course). The past 12 months have been tremendously active – in fact we experienced another record-breaking year. Over $1.7 M was invested into the Huron County economy, helping almost 100 businesses launch and expand, while creating and maintaining over 200 jobs across the region. Government Support for Canadians & businesses The Government of Canada is taking action to help businesses facing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Read the full plan here. What does this mean for businesses? The Government will provide up to $27 billion in direct support to Canadian workers and businesses. These measures are being implemented in an effort to help stabilize the economy. CF Huron loan payments postponed for March & April
As the ancient Chinese scholars said “It’s a curse to live in interesting times”. Interesting times indeed. I know most, if not all of you are already feeling the punch from cancelled contracts and business closures. The next few months will be challenging to say the least. However modest, Community Futures Huron would like to do our best to help ease the burden. To that end, principle loan payments for existing CF Huron loan clients will be postponed for the months March and April, with no interest accrued and no interest charged during these months.
