County of Huron SLED Fund opens for 2021 applications
FROM HURON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – The County of Huron’s annual SLED (Supporting Local Economic Development) program opens on February 8, 2021, providing an opportunity for municipalities and registered non-profits to receive funding for projects which target key regional economic development priorities in COVID-19 recovery, workforce attraction, agriculture, tourism, or investment attraction. Successful projects will be provided up to $10,000 through the SLED fund and must be completed by March 31, 2022. Recipients of the SLED program funding are required to use funds in a way that has a clear and measurable economic impact, includes substantial private sector participation, and must provide financial resources and support to the project. Tourism Adaptation & Recovery Program – New Tourism Funding Available
FROM HURON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – Working in partnership with Huron County, RTO4 will be implementing the Tourism Adaptation and Recovery Program to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs’) and not-for-profits (NFPs’) in the tourism and hospitality or arts and culture sectors by supporting one-time adaptation and re-opening costs incurred to continue operating post-Covid-19. There are two streams available: Physical Adaptation Stream: SMEs can apply for up to $20,000 per business towards implementation of health and safety protocols and/or renovations or equipment to accommodate social distancing.
