To further assist Huron County businesses adjusting to the impacts of COVID-19, we have launched the CF Huron Virtual Adviser Program.
Powered by Canada’s on-demand Matching Platform, BoomersPlus, this free program will match qualified organizations with an experienced Virtual Adviser to help their business manage and recover from COVID-19.
Virtual Advisers are experienced professionals representing a full range of disciplines, industries and environments, willing to share their lessons learned. A virtual adviser could help with topics and challenges including:
- Business Planning
- Social Media
- Human Resources
- Social Media
We looked at the expertise of BoomersPlus and the network and said, imagine we can bring this level of skill, expertise and advice to our clientele! We’ve never been in a position until now to really offer that level of service to our clientele. So, that’s really what’s exciting us about it…Paul Nichol, CFHuron General Manager
The Virtual Adviser Program (VAP) was created in March 2020, as a direct result of COVID-19. The BoomersPlus team wanted to help small businesses and not-for-profits work through COVID-19 issues and challenges. BoomersPlus partners with local Economic Development Agencies like CF Huron to launch Virtual Adviser Programs in several provinces. The VAP is a free program for organizations and their leaders.
BoomersPlus.com is Canada’s source for Seasoned Professionals. They are a matchmaker and define Seasoned Professionals as someone who has 20+ years’ organizational leadership experience. They have a nationwide database of thousands of Seasoned Professionals that they match to short-term, project, full-time, advisory or Mentorship roles.
What is a Virtual Adviser?
BoomersPlus currently has hundreds of vetted Virtual Advisers in their database who have agreed to volunteer some time to help a small business or not-for-profit leader through their pandemic issues and challenges. Virtual Advisers consist of recently retired or semi-retired executives, managers, business owners and entrepreneurs. Because the Adviser engages the organization virtually, meaning phone or video, they can match seasoned experts from across the country to assist the organization’s leader.
