Local Matters - Whole Foods Market EventWOCFDCA is sponsoring an information event in January 2019 featuring local buyers from Whole Foods Market. 

Two (2) dates/venues have been set for two identical events;


1)            January 24th in St. Catharines (at the Holiday Inn & Suites Parkway Conference Centre)
2)            January 31st in Stratford (at the Best Western, Arden Park Hotel)

The event is directed at a broad range of SMEs and presents buyers (they call themselves Local Foragers) from Whole Foods Market discussing how a business becomes a supplier to Whole Foods Market or any retail chain for that matter.

The Whole Foods Market brand (www.wholefoodsmarket.com) is dedicated to utilizing local suppliers and they sell a broad range of products:
o             Grocery, which includes dry goods, dairy, frozen, & general merchandise
o             Whole Body, which includes supplements, body care, apparel, and lifestyle items
o             Prepared foods and baked goods
o             Produce
o             Meat & Seafood
o             Specialty, which includes cheese, beer, & wine

The Whole Foods Market procurement team for Ontario has been very candid in letting us know that although they are always on the hunt for new and innovative products, they have found the Ontario market particularly challenging in sourcing whole body products, prepared foods and baked goods.
