Brussels, Seaforth, Vanastra Walking Tours to include audio component
CFHURON IN THE NEWS / FROM THE CITIZEN, FEB. 4, 2021 – BY SHAWN LOUGHLIN – While the Brussels Walking Tours were developed several years ago, new life has been breathed into them as they are set to receive audio tour complements courtesy of Dr. Chris Cooper and local historian Paul Nichol. Huron East Economic Development Officer Jan Hawley says the project was made possible through funding from Community Futures Huron and a partnership with Cooper of Rediscovering Canada Television, with whom Hawley has collaborated on many projects. From THE CITIZEN Aug. 20, 2020 — Huron Honey co-operative project continues to progress. Huron Honey, the community-student partnership spearheaded by Angela Smith in Central Huron, is going full steam ahead, having harvested its first batch of honey just last week. Smith and her crew of local young people were at the home farm of Central Huron Mayor and Huron County Warden Jim Ginn, where the bees have been housed since the project began, to harvest the honey last week. Huron Recovery Grant program From CKNX AM 920 – Community Futures Huron has provided $15,000 to Huron County and the Huron County Economic Development Department for a new Huron Recovery Grant program. Warden Jim Ginn said the program is designed to find new and innovative ways for businesses to adjust to a new normal, since the arrival of COVID-19.
