Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan has helped to protect millions of jobs, provide emergency support to families and keep businesses afloat as they deal with the impact of COVID-19. A central part of this is the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF), which helps support those who may not be eligible for other programs. CFDCs across Southern Ontario are providing vital RRRF support through FedDev Ontario to local small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Community Futures Huron has been able to help 82 businesses and helped maintain 256 jobs in Huron County through the RRRF. An update on the RRRF at work in Huron County – A major injection of investment capital, business services and operational funding through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund has allowed CF Huron to respond quickly to the economic challenges posed by COVID-19. To date, over $1.5 million in COVID-relief loans have been disbursed to Huron County businesses, maintaining 75 enterprises and 242 jobs in the local economy. Additionally, $567,000 in business services funding has been committed, allowing 130 SMEs and social enterprises to access expert advice and business coaching to carry them through the pandemic. The G2G Trail Guide project is intended to enhance the experience of trail users, attract new users and extend their use of the trail by connecting them with hospitality services and route planning aids.
